Roane Beard is a freelance writer and screenwriter
based in the city of Artesia, California, where he also serves as
an English professor at Cerritos College. Prior to moving
to California to
earn his M.F.A. in Screenwriting, Roane worked
in Taiwan, New York, and his home
state of Florida as a travel,
entertainment and business writer. He was the founder and managing
editor of Rickshaw, Southern Taiwan's popular expatriate
entertainment magazine, and the editor of LIFEsteps,
a business ESL English textbook. He has written for numerous print
and web publications in the United States and abroad, served
as the communication lead on projects for Johnson and Johnson, and
was the managing editor for the HelpCity.com Local Internet Guide.
He has a B.A. in English Literature from Florida State University and a M.F.A.
in Screenwriting from Chapman University's School of Film and Television
in Orange, California.
